The First Estate Administration Hearing
How long does it take for the first estate administration hearing after a Will or application for administration is filed with the Harris County Probate Court?
Specific notice procedures are required by law before the first hearing can take place. After the required notice has been completed, your Houston probate attorney will schedule a hearing with the Court. Ordinarily it will take 4-5 weeks from the initial filing with the Court until the first hearing takes place to appoint an Executor. The first hearing may take longer if the Court’s schedule does not permit an earlier hearing.
